You’re right, that wasn’t my original intention when I bought it, but it’s certainly soured me on the idea of being a landlord. Once the mortgage is paid off, I’ll actually make some kind of profit, so I hang on. As someone with no pension who spent most of her career being a poorly paid newspaper reporter/editor, I’ll need some income in my old(er) age.
