You're completely correct. (I said the same thing in a comment above.). What the world needs and what the world pays for are two very different things. Look, for instance, at the people who do the important work of caring for our elderly in nursing homes. We pay those folks jack. That's another whole conversation. We need to pay people who are doing important work decent wages. "The market" clearly doesn't always work.
