You don't KNOW you haven't gotten it, because asymptomatic cases are common. You could very well have had it and, if you were not prudent with masking, you may have passed it on to others who died. You'd never know.; it could have been a stranger next to you in line at the grocery store. My mask stays on in places like that for this reason.
