You cannot expect a damaged person to snap into perfection on their 18th birthday.

… may not be your fault, but how you handle your life is absolutely 100 percent your responsibility. Once you’re 18, all your actions are yours and no longer the fault of your parents. That means it’s up to you to make your life the way you want it to be.
