Yes to all this, but one caution: Sometimes, it is suggested that feminism equals short hair. I like my hair long. It's so much more practical, because I can just put it up if I want, or I can style it for a special occasion. When it was short, it had to be styled in some fashion every day. My hair has a weird texture now -- it was very curly when I was young but is more wiry now that it's totally gray. I could not keep it chin-length without it looking messy OR requiring an hour of messing with it. The thing is, if I have the ends floating around my face, it looks messy and not in a sexy messy way -- more like Snow White's evil stepmother AFTER she turns into the witch! When my hair is long, I don't have these unruly, wiry, non-behaving ends framing my face -- the ends are down my back where they don't matter. I always wanted straight hair that would casually fall back into place as I moved around. Mine would never do that! It has to be molded into place.
I love my long gray hair. I don't have to wash it daily, which saves me tons of time. I can braid it or put it in a bun and be done in one minute unless I want to be fancy -- which I probably do about 10 times per year and fewer all the time!
