When I tell Americans that we have a right and a far-right party but no left party, they don’t believe me. However, I’m married to a Dutch guy, and I know that what we call “socialist” is more like the center in Europe. Funny thing: My husband denied being liberal when he moved here. However, he quickly realized that he is liberal AF here in the U.S.!
