Well ... there are a couple of different ways to look at it. My husband is hugely supportive of everything I do. At different points in our marriage, we've taken turns being the breadwinner. I was the city editor of a daily newspaper when we married, and then became the editor, and finally was laid off. (Layoffs have happened to most newspaper journalists of my generation.) Currently, I'm making almost nothing as a writer. I write on Medium, I freelance, and I write genre novels and magazine articles under a pen name. It doesn't add to up very much most months. I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't married him. He's a very good man. They do exist.
