This enrages me. You were given poor care. Why were you not put on all fours? I’ve forgotten the term for this movement, but when my 9-lb-plus daughter was posterior back in 1989, my doula helped me do this until she turned. To have you in stirrups pushing is criminal! That’s the absolute worst position. Your pelvic outlet is shorter and wider when squatting. You should have kicked the nurse AND that doctor. When my daughter was pregnant, she interviewed and rejected several doctors, including one who said she favored the lithotomy position. But she only knew to do this because I’ve had a lifelong interest in pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding and she grew up hearing about such things. Otherwise, she’s have been subject to the kind of substandard care so many women are. Women need to demand better, but few know why it how and you shouldn’t need to. This is outrageous. You deserved better and I’m very sorry you were let down.
