The way we measure it now is wrong. I have often mused that perhaps we should pay everyone in one-hour resource tokens. You get a token per hour of work, whatever that work is. Do you know how many hours of work I will have to do in order to pay my medical bills? All I could think of when going into surgery, was that the OR was full of people making high salaries and that without insurance I would spend the rest of my life trying and failing to cover the cost. With insurance, and with hard work, I may pay it off in a few years. If a job needs to be done, why don't we value it? People shouldn't be doing jobs for money. They should be doing jobs because they enjoy them. This is just a thought.
