The studies are pretty clear that no diet works long-term. The number of people who are able to lose weight and keep it off long-term is quite small. They're the exception. There's all the motivation in the world to lose weight -- health, appearance, judgment of others, etc. -- and STILL people try in vain. It's not really helpful to give false hope to people.
