The piece I wrote about newspaper subscriptions here bombed. I put it on Substack and it made a splash. I immediately got a $150 membership! And a long, very nice letter. Mind you, I don’t even use a paywall there. I also got a bunch of tips, but I can’t say which piece spurred them. I wish Medium would figure out its Boost program.
