That thought went through my mind constantly when I was in the worst of it. I visualized Saddam's oil fields, which were on fire around that time. I felt like I was walking around surrounded by fires, and I just had to keep walking and trust I'd be out of them eventually. It's a Churchill quote, btw, which I didn't realize at that point.
