Thanks for collecting this info. I was horrified when Tony S said on Medium Day that implied people like me would be better on Substack. He said Substack loves creators. I thought Medium loved creators. No? I'm not here to write sales copy or to drum up business for myself. If I want to write that, I'll go to LinkedIn. I am here on Medium to write thoughtful stories people enjoy reading, and until recently, lots of people were reading what I wrote and enthusiastically interacting with me to tell me they liked my work My reads are significantly reduced now. You will not make money here without frequent Boosts now, and I'm not getting them. None of my best-performing stories right now have been Boosted. It's gratifying that "Phones Are the New Smoking" that I published on 7-31 has made $27 and has almost 2K claps and 38 comments without a Boost. "1 Trillionaire and 8 Billion Homeless People" has made $20 and has almost 3K claps and 39 comments -- also not deemed Boost-worthy. It's an uphill battle to do well without benefit of Boosts. Part of the problem is that I had been publishing most things to my own pub, and I don't have Boost powers. So I'm now submitting to pubs, but a lot of what I write doesn't fit neatly into niches. It hasn't earned me more Boosts or more reads to be published by others, and it has destroyed my own pub. So ... do I just leave the platform, or do I carry on and hope that Medium adjusts the algorithm, or what?
