The thing is, cooking is not rocket science. If you've eaten a dish before, you know what it's supposed to end up looking and tasting like. You read and follow the directions, the same way you learn how to do that thing you do at work when you need to pick up a new skill. I got a job once that threw me into having to learn to write and direct videos. I researched it and faked my way through it successfully. Making soup is far easier. :)
