Nobody should think there is control — just preferences. I’m still sad I didn’t get to experience natural birth and I had my kids in 89 and 92. A shitty nurse in 89 really did harm. She harped on me to get an epidural instead of helping me. It was Christmas and she was apparently irritated to be working.
My daughter had me by her side, benefited from changes in birth culture, and got exactly the meaningful, natural, empowering births she planned for. It meant a lot for me to experience that with her.
