My only sister passed away two years ago.

I want to maintain the family member’s privacy. Trust me, this person is hard-working, thrifty, educated etc. This person’s situation is not under their control.

I’m leaning toward fixing the car. I’ve had several times lately that someone has needed me and I’ve been unable to get to them, which is upsetting! For example, my daughter lives three hours away and I want to drive up and stay with her for a couple of days to help her get her house ready to sell, but I can’t because my husband usually works every day but Sunday. I don’t want to waste this precious opportunity though. What if I fix the car and it just breaks down again, you know?
