My mom's death was horrific -- lung cancer that spread to her bones and brain. Her last weeks, she was unable to communicate at all. We couldn't move her without causing her terrible pain because so many of her bones were broken from cancer. It was so bad.

On the other hand, each of my cats and dogs I've lost have slipped peacefully away as the whole family touches them and speaks words of love.
