My ex and I (divorced in 2002) have not exchanged words in many years. If I get my wish, I’ll never hear his voice again. Even when we both attend a family event, we do not speak to each other. Everyone told me we’d be able to get along after a while — we’d had a long and (as far as I knew) happy and peaceful marriage. Nope! Some bitterness never goes away. My hatred is still there.
