Let’s Take A Time Machine Back To The Good Old Days
When each idiot stayed in his own village
I used to believe in progress. I saw a clear line from cavemen to Star Trek, and figured we were well on our way to zipping around in flying cars.
Maybe I’d live to see a near-utopian world free of cancer, poverty and ignorance, I thought.
And then we invented social media.
Progress has ground to a halt.
People spend hours every day scrolling social media. Most of the content isn’t useful or even entertaining. Lots of it is maliciously harmful.
We still have dedicated people working on the problems of humanity, but all the idiots in the world seem to be united in their efforts to keep any further progress from being made.
The idiots are winning.
U.S. life expectancy is dropping. Maternal and infant mortality rates are rising. So are suicide rates. The Earth is heating up and the world’s rivers are running dry. You name it, it’s getting worse. Basically, we have stopped moving forward and are now going backward, which is apparently just what the idiots want.
