Let me take it one step further: Nursing moms should feel proud of what they’re doing.
My kids were born in 1989 and 1992, when nursing was less acceptable. I always wore something I could lift from the bottom, like a T-shirt or sweater, instead of a one-piece dress. If anyone had a problem with that tiny flash of breast they might see if they really worked at it, that was their problem. Didn’t concern me one bit. If anyone had had the nerve to criticize me, they’d have lived to regret it. But this is why I always make it a point to smile at every nursing mom — to try to counteract any negativity she might get for what she’s doing.
