Lessons Learned From My Fourth Full Month On Medium

I can now answer the question, “What will three months of consistent posting to Medium get you?”

When I started this journey in March, I wanted to reach the $100-per-month-club in three months.

I probably would have, but I took time off in April after a loss. As a result, it actually took me four months to reach my goal.

But in June, 75 percent of my stories were curated and I joined the $100 per month club. That seems to be the threshold by which writers are judged here.

That’s the good news.

Looked at another way, I wrote 28 stories in June, and earned $159.69 for my efforts. While that’s a great improvement over my previous months, it’s still not a good immediate return.

But still, I like the progression:

• In March I earned $25.08 for 27 stories, or about $.93 per story
• In April I earned $56.97 for 23 stories, or about $2.48 per story
• In May, I earned $77.49 for 24 stories, or about $3.23 per story
• In June, I earned $159.69 for 28 stories, or about $5.70 per story
