Keto and the related diets have never, ever worked for me. And I'm sick of being told, condescendingly, "well, you must not be reading labels." Ugh. I mostly eat stuff that doesn't have labels, because I cook mostly from scratch. THERE ARE NO LABELS ON RAW BROCCOLI, you know. It's like when my OB told me, when I was gaining a lot of weight in pregnancy, to eat less fast food. I ate ZERO fast food because I couldn't afford it. He asked what I'd had for breakfast. It was cooked grains. He was puzzled. He thought fat people must all eat doughnuts for breakfast and burgers for lunch, I guess. I don't believe I have lipedema, but I certainly have something unusual going on in my body that I've never figured out. I'm not stupid, either. I've systematically tried countless things, from IF to keto variations to inflamation diets etc. I've tried lots of exercise of various kinds. The only REALLY effective diet of my life was getting divorced and having a stomach so queasy from emotional upset that I was unable to eat more than a few bites a day for several months. That worked, but I barely got through it.
