I've kept my pantry stocked for ... well, forever. (I've written about this if anybody is interested). I thought the issue would be an energy snafu, not a pandemic (and that may still happen). The key is to stock things you actually eat, and to rotate the stock. We eat lots of beans, and those last practically forever. If worst comes to worst, frankly, I'll ride my bike out to the country and gather wild foods. That isn't the whole answer, by any means, but we won't starve.
