It's worth noting that some things aren't doable for everyone. Not owning a car is one of those things. Many of us live where there is no public transportation. I love the idea of a heat pump, but they're expensive. Giving up meat or drastically cutting it down, however, is something any of us can do -- my husband eats no meat and I eat less and less of it. Not flying or flying rarely is also possile -- plenty of people never fly, or maybe just take one splurge trip in their lifetime. I agree that we need to work on the powers that be. I do believe our small efforts matter, but I also believe we need system-wide change.
