It’s a start. There’s more to be done, certainly. There’s also a plan to reduce payments and forgive balances after a shorter time period for those who pay consistently. That, as I understand it, is probably even more helpful. The big question is, why aren’t all public schools better funded so young people aren’t strangled in the first place? And why do we choose to profit from students? It’s as if we started charging people for their cost of high school.
