It may be deeply rubbish, but trying to change this kind of thing, by trying to unionize one's workplace, will get you fired immediately. It's not legal to fire someone for trying to unionize, but they can ALWAYS find a different reason. It happens all the time. You can sue them for it ... assuming you have millions of bucks in your account to go up against the powerful firm ... which of course most low-level employees do not have. It's a racket.
