It blows my mind that so many women who are still menstruating think they cannot get pregnant! If you have completed menopause, you can stop using contraception. If you're still having periods, there isn't any good way of knowing whether you're still fertile. Assume you are and use contraception, unless you hope to conceive. I emphasized this to a friend of mine of a certain age. She laughed me off, telling me there was no way she could get pregnant at her age. SHE GOT PREGNANT. I just shook my head. (She miscarried early, which was probably for the best in her situation.)
