I'm writing from Earth, in the U.S., where every single divorced mom I know personally has struggled mightily after a divorce. In the typical case, she has been making less money because she's been putting most of her energy and time into caring for kids, so losing the household's second income is devastating. And then, she has to give up at least one evening a week and every other weekend to her ex, so that greatly decreases the amount of time she has with her kids. Every dental appointment, haircut, outing to get new shoes, etc. has to be crammed into a smaller timeframe. Somewhere out there are divorced dads who handle some of that, but none that I have ever met.
Women would usually be better off having their children without a man.
