I'm horrified that nobody warned you not to stop breastfeeding. I know you did it with the very best of intentions, but for God's sake your doctor should have made sure you knew that a baby at risk needs breastmilk. Your antibodies you were producing were liquid gold.

To anybody reading this who has a child or will have a child in the future: Keep nursing if you are sick! Your baby absolutely needs the antibodies in your milk. Your body custom-makes antibodies to keep your baby healthy. There are very few contraindications to nursing, and if in doubt, consult an IBCLC.
