I’m happy everything is now good. And the choice is yours. But I would caution every woman who wants to have children that Mother Nature is not a feminist. Socially and professionally, it makes sense to wait to have children. But biologically, it’s dicier. The risk is higher for moms and babies when we push it too long, and not every story ends well. It’s good for us to recognize that and make our choices accordingly. I had my children in my 20s, when my body was at its peak. I did suffer financially and professionally for that choice. There are always trade-offs. Our culture is at odds with biology. Ideally we’d set up society so that women could give birth earlier without our careers and finances suffering for it.
