I’m annoyed because certain people don’t understand how writing works. Good writers will find other good writers. We will read their work for pleasure. We will buy their books and follow them to other platforms. We may write about all manner of subjects— family life, careers, culture, memoir, gardening, politics or whatever. This is not “writing for writers” but if it’s written well, it’s certainly going to draw some writers. If I read Deb Harmon or Adeline Dimond or Margaret Dean or Dustin Arand or Walter Klein, it’s not fake engagement. Those people can write! I could list dozens of others.
It’s idiotic to downgrade the finest writers ON A WRITING SITE and justify it because the best writers tend to be fans of each other.
