I’m an American and only some of the things apply where I live. I’m in central Illinois and it’s nothing like you describe. However, the bread does suck, and my Dutch husband wants good bread, so I must bake sourdough bread at least once a week. We also make our coffee and espresso at home bcz good coffee is hard to find.
