Ideally, we’d have a better safety next for everyone — we all need to have house insurance because we don’t know if we will have a fire, and the premiums ensure the one person out of hundreds who does have a fire will be ok. With retirement, everyone is expected to save enough for the most extreme scenario, including those of us who unknowingly are going to die at 65.
