I’d never spray my yard with chemicals! I do have grass, but it’s full of clover, violets, plantain and dandelions, too. All are welcome. I harvest the violets every year for syrup or candied flowers. We use an electric mower and have allowed a small side area to return to the wild. We have a small goldfish pond in the back that the birds, squirrels and other critters gratefully drink from. I planted a cherry tree in the front yard to memorialize my sister (we used to love to pick cherries when we were kids) and have been trying to think of a good way to attractively grow other food plants.
Thank you for writing about this topic. Many of my neighbors do spray and I hate that.
