I’d never do it just based on renting out my other house — couldn’t sell it in 2008 so resorted to renting it out. Most tenants were awful. Now, my adult son is glad to rent his childhood home, and it works out great. But if he ever moves out I’m selling it. Renting anything isn’t worth it because the percent of people who are pigs is much higher than you’d expect.
