I wrote a bunch of romance novels under a pen name. In one of them, the woman is reluctant to marry or have kids, having seen things go wrong for her sister. The man is so determined to marry her that he comes up with a similar agreement, so she agrees to marry him. (In a later book in the series, they have a baby, too).
