I would not let them do this to my son, born in 1992, even though his father had been circumcised. It struck me as barbaric. Later, I married a Dutch man. Europeans normally remain intact. I now know it’s a terrible shame for any male to lose his foreskin. It’s a highly functional part of the penis. It’s the single most sexually sensitive part of a man’s anatomy. It does affect the sexual function between the man and his partner in certain ways. We should never, ever remove that from a minor. If an adult wants to modify his penis, that’s his choice. But it should never be taken from someone who cannot choose.
