I was married to a teacher for 15 year. Things started out rough; the starting salary was hard to live on. But he got a raise every single year. He is making around 90K now and will retire in the next few years. He is set for life with a pension and insurance. After the first few years, he didn't need to do any work at home. The district helped pay for his master's degree. He had off summers and every imaginable holiday and was home every day by 4 p.m. And no, this is not in some expensive area: Where we live, one can buy a decent house for $100K. You will never do that well at Walmart.
