I was laid off in 2015 from my job as editor of a small-town daily. I was overworked and underpaid, as is pretty much universal. Still, I don't think there has been one day since then that I haven't wished I still had that job. It essentially doesn't exist anymore, though. It was a fine little paper that served the community well. I wish they'd stop publishing it. There's no local news in it. It never breaks a story. It should be put out of its misery.
