I was hoping this story would be seen by more people. Because it hasn't been, I would encourage each of you who read this to make it a point to talk to the young adults in your lives. We need a national conversation about this. Even well-educated young people seem to believe they can wait much longer to have children than they probably can. The fact that fertility declines sooner than they think should be taken into consideration when they plan their life. Maybe a bigger publication will take up the subject and help educate young people who want to have kids "someday" like when they're 35. That will work fine for some but others will be disappointed.
