I was an award-winning print journalist for 30 years and have worked in advertising, marketing and PR. I'm a fan of quality writing and I'd like to see if there's a way to make the best writing easier to find. The problem is that without gatekeepers, it's difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. There is a lot of wheat here -- but there's also plenty of chaff.
Perhaps your curating team could award some kind of writing badge to those who consistently meet high standards.
Can we have a completely separate section for pieces about monetization? That information is helpful, but only to writers. Prospective members are turned off by it, and all of us are sick of the constant stream of "Here's How I Made 90 Million Bucks My First Day On Medium." Another possibility would be for those posts to be ineligible for pay, which would automatically reduce their prevalence.
