I rent out a house we used to live in that I couldn’t sell in 2008. I have many horror stories! But for the last four years, my son has rented it. He doesn’t want the hassles of home ownership. He pays every month and never trashes it, so it’s a good deal. If he ever moves out, I’ll sell it — at a loss if necessary — bcz good tenants are really hard to find.
