I make Bread Salad using essentially this recipe with torn day-old French bread folded in.

Fresh, hot, alone or in a salad. One of my favorite summer meals is a salad/bread dish with lots of tomatoes, mango, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Topped with balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. There’s a slice of rye bread under all the colors.
