I knew somebody would say this.... it varies a lot, so it's hard to settle on numbers. Here was my math: A house payment where I live would be about a grand per month. (Mine is less). The most I ever made in my life per hour was $20 per hour. (Less, actually, because I was on salary and worked more like 60 hours per week than 40). But anyway, $1,000 divided by $20 is 50.
