I invite you to befriend some people who are actually poor. It sounds as if you’ve never met an actual poor person. You’re describing middle class spendthrifts. You are not describing poor people at all and it’s not clear you understand the difference. I find that most people of means don’t. Until people with means understand poverty, we will never have useful poverty alleviation programs.
