I have seen people die from the strain of caring for someone. It takes physical strength and stamina to care for someone who cannot feed themselves, use the toilet alone, etc. With dementia, the person can be combative as well. Also, who is supposed to provide this care? This person has a job and needs to work — how’s that supposed to work? Often, a female family member is just expected to do it. To hell with her job — she can just sacrifice her ability to care for herself?
