I have always thought it would be a great idea to have a drive-through/pick-up family dinner place -- where you could get actual decent but not special occasion food. There was a place that offered a couple of options when I lived in Washington, IL, but it was too expensive for me. It would be nice to have good (not canned) soups, salads and sandwiches and maybe two entrees each night, with a rotating menu. When we sent Mom to work, nobody took up the slack and started doing the cooking she used to do. It's like we assumed all the stuff the SAHM did was just "extra" but it was not -- it was important work that nobody is really in charge of now. It's not like dads usually have extra time, either, honestly. I'd have opened such a place if I'd had start-up money.
