I experimented with AI images when they first became available, so they are on a handful of old pieces. I’ve decided not to use anymore. Here’s the thing: It used to be that creators worked within an ecosystem. We worked for a newspaper, magazine, ad agency, whatever, which might have employed or had some kind of relationship with writers, editors, photographers, illustrators, graphic designers. Now, many of us are one-person shows. We don’t make enough to fully support ourselves, let alone outsource the other things to people who specialize in them. I can sometimes use my own photos but I can’t draw. Others can draw but not write. This is a problem!
