I dislike it when people say they are here to learn how to write. I was already a competent writer when I came here. I wouldn't want anybody to have to read the shit I produced when I was learning how to write. I commend you on being able to write for the NYT. My journalism career was in small-town community newspapers, which was satisfying, but certainly not the same as writing for the Times.
