Sorry, but I disagree strongly. News stories are supposed to inform you. By leaving out information, you inform less. People may make judgments based on age, perceived ethnic group (that’s a weird foreign name!), sex and more. That’s on my be reader. (Former newspaper editor here.) Age is an important identifier! I’m 57, btw, and I don’t care who knows it. It’s a privilege to reach this age.
